1. How did Melati and Isabel spend their teenage years?

Answer: They spent their teenage years cleaning up the Bali island from plastic.

2. Why did the two sisters decide to help clean up Bali?

Answer: They found plastic everywhere in their everyday lives. They saw it when they walked to the rice fields or when they went to the beaches. 

They were aware of the growing problem with plastic in places it should not be. So, they felt the urgency to protect the environment and the natural world.
