You are going to read a comic strip. Before that, try to understand the meanings of some phrases in the comic stript by matching the words in column A with their meanings in column B. Work individually.

Jawaban: 

1. The boy is anticipating the power outages issues by keep the fan and the air conditioner on also leave the refrigerator open so he think that his house cools quickly.

2. What he is doing is wrong, because he is wasting electrical energy.

3. A boy and his mother hear a broadcast from their televesion at home.

In that broadcast, the local power company that urges Indonesian people to carry out an energy-conserving movement to avoid power outages.

However, the boy is trying to keep his house temperature cool before the blackout.

Then, he wants to leave the refrigerator open and keep the air conditioner on, so that his house can cool immediately.

Hearing that, his mother is surprised, and then warns him not to do those things.

Because, what the boy wants to do is a waste of electrical energy.

A waste of electrical energy is also an act of selfishness, because if many people did the same thing, the power outrage would happen sooner.

After listening to what his mom says, the boy agree and does not proceed to waste the electrical energy.
